Doornekamp Lines has launched as the new alternative to rail and truck transport by shipping containers, heavy-lift, breakbulk, project cargo from the East Coast to the Ontario Market.
Doornekamp Lines, a subsidiary of Doornekamp Construction Ltd., a family-owned business with head office in Odessa, Ontario is set to be Eastern Ontario’s newest mode of transportation. The shipping company will operate from Halifax to Picton and stops in between serving importers and exporters in Ontario.
Doornekamp will move all types and sizes of containers, heavy-lift, breakbulk, project cargo with a 2007-built container vessel on charter and will commence bi-weekly services this May. They can provide first and last-mile trucking options through local transportation provider Cooney Transport.
Future plans for Phase 2 include a bi-weekly matching service between Picton, Ontario and Cleveland, Ohio.
