General Transport AG, the exclusive member for Switzerland of the PFN Project Freight Network, successfully transported a significant shipment for their customer. The cargo consisted of 91 packages, including several heavy lift pieces weighing between 78 and 280 tons. In total, the shipment weighed over 1000 freight tons and consisted of reciprocating compressors and accessories for a leading global company in this industry.
To facilitate the transportation, General Transport AG employed a combination of truck and river barge services. The lighter packages were transported by trucks, while the heavy lift pieces were transported using a combination of truck and river barge. The transportation route encompassed multiple origins, including Switzerland, Italy, and Germany, and the destination was Lianyungan, Asia.
The goods were first transported by truck and river barge to Antwerp seaport, where they were carefully loaded onto a break bulk carrier bound for Asia. This multimodal approach allowed for efficient and secure transportation of the cargo.
The successful execution of this project was made possible by General Transport AG’s longstanding partnerships with dedicated trucking companies, barge operators, terminal operators, and vessel operators. These partnerships ensured a smooth and timely execution of the transportation process, maintaining the high standards of service expected by their customer.
