BIG Logistics, LLC, a portfolio company of SecurCapital Corp, has taken possession of the remainder of the building they occupy at 1000 N. 28th Street in Irving, Texas, on the grounds of DFW International Airport. This DFW expansion brings the entire 223,000 square foot building under their control.

BIG Logistics has big plans for the facility, expanding on an existing book of business that includes construction, health care, PPE and plans to offer B2B light manufacturing and assembly along with B2C e-commerce and final mile fulfillment.

Steve Russell, CEO of SecurCapital, cited the growth of the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex and the region’s status as the fastest-growing real estate market in the country as the reasons for deepening their investment.

“BIG Logistics will continue beyond the DFW expansion to other of its 3PL facilities throughout Texas as well as targeting other key acquisitions in the region. Businesses are approaching us as they have both rapidly advanced direct-to-consumer e-commerce channels and are either uninterested in paying for or unable to maintain their own warehouses,” Russell explains. “We are creating a value proposition where through technology and infrastructure, we seamlessly operate as a company’s fulfillment division without the weight of the investment on its balance sheet.”

The facility has 41 dock-height doors and an additional 6,300 pallet positions are being added, bringing the total to 10,000 in the 32’ clear height, climate-controlled building. A portion of the building will be a Customs-bonded Container Freight Station (CFS) and the entire facility will operate as a TSA-regulated Indirect Air Carrier (IAC).

Our strategic vision included expanding the company in phases and from our initial investment in a portion of this building in 2018, we have felt that when the time was right we would seek to obtain the balance of the space,” shares Vinod Baliga, CEO of BIG.

“We are actively soliciting business that utilizes the DFW expansion with continued strong growth and expanding roster of international flights and airlines. This will also serve as a conduit for our operation in El Paso and Laredo where imports and exports of components and manufactured goods moving into and out of Mexico will have access to the global marketplace,” Baliga continued.
